What New Employers Mean for Colorado Springs Home Values

A precision manufacturer is bringing $68 million and more than 130 jobs to Colorado Springs. Here is what steady job growth means for home values and the local housing market.

Companies keep choosing Colorado Springs. In early October, Accu-Precision, a precision manufacturer based in nearby Littleton, announced it is building a roughly $68 million facility in our city, a project expected to add more than 130 net new jobs with average wages near $73,000 a year. That is well above the average wage across El Paso County, and it is the kind of news that quietly shapes the housing market. When good-paying jobs come to town, more people can afford to buy, and that demand is one of the forces holding home values up.

The Bigger Picture: A Region That Keeps Growing

Accu-Precision is not alone. Last year, the Colorado Springs Chamber and EDC closed projects with nine new or expanding companies, adding more than 1,100 jobs and about $499 million in capital investment. Aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, and tech keep putting down roots here, drawn by the military bases, the educated workforce, and the quality of life. Each announcement is a small signal that this regional economy is still growing, even in months when the housing headlines feel quieter.

What This Means for Home Values

Here is where the two threads meet. Median prices in Colorado Springs peaked last May and have eased slightly every month since, while the number of homes for sale recently hit its highest September level since 2011. That combination is why we describe this as a drift, not a correction. A growing job base is a big part of the reason nobody here is forecasting a crash. When employers keep adding jobs, the people who take them keep looking for homes, and that puts a floor under values.

What It Means for You, Whether You're Buying or Selling

For buyers, steady job growth is a reason to feel more confident about buying here for the long run. It does not mean prices will climb quickly. It means the fundamentals underneath your decision are solid. For sellers, the message is different. With more homes on the market and buyers taking their time, the listings that sell are the ones priced realistically from day one. That has always been true, and it is especially true right now.

We watch the job reports and the sales numbers the same way, because both tell us where this market is headed. If you are wondering what any of it means for your specific home, that is exactly the conversation we are here for. We will give you an honest read on the numbers, not a pitch.
